About Hengqin

Hengqin Island, part of Zhuhai in Guangdong Province, represents a unique special economic district combining China's and Macau's development interests. The island, roughly three times the size of Macau, was designated as an In-Depth Guangdong-Macau Cooperation Zone, creating a bridge between mainland China and the Special Administrative Region. Parts of the island are leased to Macau, creating an unusual territorial arrangement where Macau law applies, exemplifying cross-border collaboration and integration.
